Indications for Use:
· Dyspepsia;
· Intoxication in dysentery, salmonellosis, foodborne toxic infections;
· Flatulence;
· Hypersecretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach;
· Allergic diseases;
· Poisoning by chemical compounds and medicinal substances;
· Preparation for radiological and endoscopic examinations (to reduce gas formation).
Contraindications:
· Individual intolerance;
· Ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract (gastric and duodenal ulcer, nonspecific ulcerative colitis);
· Gastrointestinal bleeding.
Special Instructions: After taking activated charcoal, stool may turn black.
Composition: Each tablet contains: Activated charcoal - 0.25 g.
Dosage and Administration: Taken orally at 250-750 mg 3-4 times a day. When used as an antidote, the dosage regimen is individualized.
Side Effects:
· Constipation;
· Diarrhea;
· With prolonged use - hypovitaminosis, impaired absorption of nutrients.
Drug Interactions: When taken in high doses together with other medicinal products, activated charcoal reduces their absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, which may decrease their effectiveness.
